  • Fall

We got together today for Redwood Learning Center. Technically today was supposed to be our first week, but we knew that there would be no students because our advertising efforts were pretty weak. It was fun though to hang out with Jennie all afternoon and put together more stuff for advertising and planning. Hopefully next week we will have students! I think this is going to be such a cool opportunity and it will bring youth into our church, which we desperately need. I am looking forward to seeing what it becomes.

I am also serving on the church's missions committee now which is going to be way fun. We get to communicate with the various missionaries we support as well as oversee the mission/outreach efforts of the church. I am really looking forward to getting our church family a lot more involved in service both locally and beyond. I think a lot of people need a change of perspective when it comes to Being the Church.

When it comes to family, I cannot believe how fast Keira is growing and changing. She is over 3 months old now and it blows my mind how she developing her little personality. She has recently discovered her hands and playing with toys a little. She sort knows how to roll from her tummy to her back. She is so amazing and I love having her in my life

So ya those are the positive things going on in my life and right now I am trying to focus on the positive!

  • busy and bored

I seriously need a book to read. I keep forgetting to actually walk into my pastor's office and borrow one, although he already said I could borrow whatever I want (granted he is not reading it or using it for a message). I also am waiting for some books to arrive from half.com, but they are just more parenting type books I was interested in skimming. I realize that reading parenting books often makes you more confused, but I'm just a curious sort and I do take everything I read/hear with a grain of salt. Cause let's be real people, every child and parent is different and you cannot force them into a mold and think it will work. I am still learning so much (it would be strange if I wasn't) but at least I have learned most of Keira's cues.

Now although this makes it sound like I am bored it is quite the opposite. RJ and I met with Marshall and Jennie this week to get things in motion for our after school tutoring program at the church. We are super stoked because RJ has such a passion for tutoring and I just love working with youth. Plus this is actually something that I already created on paper for a project in college a few years back. Granted in the project we could pretend we had all the resources in the world, but the basic structures are laid out.
I am also doing the Christmas program with Choir at church and I'm the powerpoint lady :) I love having stuff to do!

  • Wow I cannot believe it is already halfway through September. The Santa Cruz County Fair is this week, but our pony show got moved to Saturday instead of Sunday. Which is also my brother's birthday, poor PJ has had a pony show on his birthday for as long as we can remember, but I plan on thoroughly emberasing him throughout the day. I'm not sure how Keira is going to do being at the fairgrounds for a day, but we will have the camper so hopefully she will be able to nap and not have problems.
It will be interesting to see if I run into anyone I know from high school, it is always fun to see what people are up to.

  • August Update

I realize I have been bad about writing real updates on here. I feel like not a lot exciting has been going on, but at the same time life is still crazy and moving. My girl is now 8 weeks old! She weighs over 11lbs which is not so nice on my arms and back    She keeps getting more fun to play with (when she's in the mood) and she smiles and coos a lot now. She is definitely a morning baby, which is not so good for me, but we will overcome. That's what coffee is for right? Oh yeah and I definitely have been drinking coffee again! I discovered a delicious latte at Surf City that makes me oh so happy.
Things are moving along with getting the house, building permit application has been submitted so once we are approved the pace will pick up significantly. I am praying it will be here and us moved in by November.
No changes on employment statuses. RJ is still working for my parents and I am still just taking care of Keira. I keep putting off starting work for my mom as bookkeeper, but that is more because I am lazy.
So yeah hopefully something really cool will happen in the next few weeks that will give me the boost I need to be more productive.
